FOOD TRUCK OLYMPICS, PART 2

Pierogi Food Truck specializing in Polish and Eastern European cuisine.
Event is being held at BATES NUT FARM

Valley Center, CA 92082

CHEFS ON WHEELS—There was a time when mobile lunch wagon’s like Moody’s lunch wagons ruled the streets.  Then a couple of years ago, the adventuresome entrepreneurs at MiHo Gourmet and Deborah Scott at Cohn’s Restaurants, led the way to what now has become a fleet of fine truck cuisine.  Almost gone is the truck stop diner, but don’t fret, instead say hello to the truck restaurant arriving at a location near you.

Of course this being America, a food truck fest has been organized and up and running this Saturday, Mar. 9 in Valley Center, where the public can attend (free admission) and taste (for a price) the culinary concoctions offered up by a sea of truck restaurants.

Here are just a few of the 15 promised food trucks to attend the 2013 Valley Center (CA) Food Truck Festival: Devilicious, Sweet Treats, Chip’s Beach Eatz, Chubby’s Food Truck, Pierogi Truck, Urban Eats, Crepes Bonaparte and more.

Excellent resource: The Valley fest web team has posted a detailed list of its 15 food truck entries, including photos and links to websites and facebook.

How healthy are food trucks? UTSanDiego article (3-7-13, page C-1) by Lori Weisberg "Grading on a Roll" details health code grading for the more 500 food trucks doing business in the County.
