LATE SPRING STAYCATION—Last March, this blog spent its annual staycation in Little Italy.  This year we took advantage of beautiful weather during early March 2013 to visit South Pacific Beach.

That’s the Catamaran Hotel and Resort in the lower portion of the photo.  Perfect way to spend the Ides of March.

This blog finds the Catamaran the ideal staycation location for locals because of its bay and beach proximity and the top floors of the hotel tower offer kitchenettes and terrific vistas, especially the south facing suites.  http://www.catamaranresort.com/

Also, the Catamaran has a first class spa to go with sailing, kayaking and bike rental facilities.
Fortunately, the early March rain has hit during the week and spared the weekends.

In this very recent aerial photograph (above) of Pacific Beach looking north to La Jolla, veteran photographer Martin Mann shows why he’s one of the most creative lensmen in the area, plus why San Diego has the most perfect year-around weather anywhere.  When not being the Director of Photography for San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles, he’s a prolific freelance photographer.   For more on Marty: www.martinmann.com/
