ONE PICTURE WORTH 1000 WORDS / NEW, NEW YORK SUBWAYS

UNDER CONSTRUCTION—As of Feb. 12, 2013, here’s an eerie image of work to date on the caverns 16 stories underneath Grand Central Terminal.  A series new commuter lines will connect under served areas of Manhattan and Queens to a brand new Grand Central Terminal.  Completion date by 2019.  Current subway rides are five million per day or 1.6 billion annually.
