BEYOND GENES—Mark Sisson has an online diet tips blog and website that I subscribe to and recently one of his postings caught my attention because of its universality.  The post is titled “7 Characteristics Associated with Long Life (and how to cultivate them.”  It’s certainly a topic we all should be interested in?  Unless, you exhibit the opposite of the traits below, which is your call.

Friday, Councilmember Todd Gloria and State Assembly Majority Leader Toni Atkins were on hand to celebrate with local historians as it was announced that our beloved North Park Water Tower was officially recognized as a historic site.

Over the years, Jim Brady, one of our city’s top freelance architecture and design photographers, has grown accustomed to the water tower.  If you link with his site you’ll be treated to a portfolio of Jim’s water tower images.

The 19th ever San Diego Book / Writing Awards will be held, Saturday, June 22, 6 pm to 10 pm at the AMN Healthcare Bldg., 12400 High Bluff Dr., San Diego CA 92130.  Tickets are $29 for light refreshments.  Tickets online
