LOCAL / GIVE BLOOD, GET BURGERS: A HALLOWEEN TREAT IN CORONADO CORONADO, CA

There’s something deliciously vunderful brewing in Coronado, CA this Halloween week, and it involves a vampire, a blood drive and a free hamburger. Today Tuesday, October 27, Double Standard restaurant is teaming up with the San Diego Blood Bank for a community blood drive that promises to reward generosity with a hearty meal. From 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the San Diego Blood Bank’s Bloodmobile will be stationed outside the restaurant at 1202 Orange Avenue, ready to welcome donors willing to roll up their sleeves for a good cause.

In return, everyone who donates blood will receive a free burger combo, including a single burger of their choice, fries and a soda. The complimentary meal must be redeemed the same day.

The restaurant’s Halloween-themed promotion features a cartoon vampire enjoying a hamburger, a playful reminder that giving blood can be a treat for everyone involved.

Of course, the real beneficiaries are patients throughout the San Diego region who depend on lifesaving blood donations.

And unlike Count Dracula, the San Diego Blood Bank only accepts blood from willing donors.
