TASTE OF NORTH PARK—Last
month, Forbes magazine’s online site
called the historic mid-city neighborhood of North Park one of the nation’s
hippest neighborhoods, an announcement this blog, which is especially keen on
all things North Park, repeated on September 24, 2012.
Fast forward to next Saturday, when the neighborhood will
celebrate one of its biggest street parties of the year. Called, “A Taste of North Park,” the mid-day
bash will be a splendid opportunity for locals to celebrate “our” new
nationally recognized hipness.
So far, according to sponsor North Park Main Street, the
“Taste” will include more than 30 restaurants, microbreweries, local galleries
and boutiques that will toss open their doors and spill out onto sidewalks to
tempt us with tantalizing samples of cuisine, craft beer and of course other
cool things.
Proceeds from this event will benefit North Park Main
Street, a non-profit organization committed to the revitalization of the North
Park Business Improvement District and North Park’s historic Downtown.
