COFFEE INFUSED ONION CHUTNEY

Teah.
GUEST BLOG—By Teah Tierele—Hey, hey! I’m Teah. I've been with Death Wish Coffee Co. since September 2013, and in coffee for six years. Chemex is my preferred method of brew, but I'm a sucker for espresso out of a naked portafilter. I write a lot of the blogs and do some photography for the company. I also coordinate with our fulfillment center to make sure your coffee gets to your doorstep.  In my free time, you could find me messing around with a bass guitar or eating more food than a 5’0 human should be able to. In case you weren’t getting enough Death Wish Coffee the traditional way the following is a coffee-centric, autumn comfort food dish that’s easy to make.

THE RECIPE:
This sauteed onion recipe is a perfect, unique way for topping sandwiches, hot dogs, crackers, baked mac and cheese, or anything you would put sautéed onions on already. The Death Wish Coffee flavor is subtle, but distinct. Caffeine content is negligible, so it's safe to give to the kids (and Grandpa).

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

1. One whole white onion, chopped

2. 1/4 cup of brewed Death Wish Coffee

3. Spices:

1 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. chili powder
4. 2 tbs. olive oil

Step 1.
Add the oil to your pan and heat to medium.  Add your chopped onions.

Step 2. Saute onions until they start to become translucent.

Step 3.
Add your coffee and let simmer for 30 seconds.

Step 4.
Add your spices and stir, letting them simmer for another 10 minutes or until the onions have caramelized.

Step 5.
Now that the pan contents have caramelized put the coffee infused onion chutney on almost anything.

Enjoy.

ABOUT DEATH WISH COFFEE CO.

Hi! I’m Mike, for the past 7 years I’ve made my living in the coffee biz. After owning and working at a small coffee house in Saratoga Springs, I knew my love for coffee wasn’t going to end in a little shop, it was just the beginning. I created Death Wish Coffee because I wanted to bring something new and powerful to the coffee world. I’m excited to share this blend with everyone. Starting Death Wish Coffee has been a blast and I can’t wait to see what the future of the world’s strongest coffee holds. My favorite color is red, I drink my coffee black and I love to read early in the morning.
