TUESDAY TRAVEL / HAVANA NEWSPAPER PHOTO CONTEST UPDATE

IN THE RUNNING—This terrific photograph of a Havana, Cuba apartment building is one of the contenders in the Havana Times annual photo contest. This image is from the "Textures" category. The Havana Times asked for media opinions and the images posted here are picks from Pillar to Post.

GUEST BLOG—By Circles Robinson, Editor, Havana Times--— Judging continues for our 7th Cuba Photo Contest. This year we had a total of 1506 entries from 190 participants.

In the first of four rounds of selection the 20 jury members were asked to select a maximum of 40 pictures in each category.

To reach the second round a given photo needed to have the votes of four or more jury members. A total of 119 photographers had at least one picture make it to the second round, which includes 336 photos.

We look forward to your comments on the selections and the contest. We hope to have the Second Round results soon.
