EMBRACING AMERICANA-- For more years than anyone in North Park can remember St. Patrick’s School and its community has held a Fall Festival in the month of October. Continuing its tradition into 2013, the annual Shamrocktoberfest will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 19 and 20.
All the usual community festival suspects will be there:
Festival Hours:
Saturday Noon to 9 pm
Sunday 10:30 am to 7 pm
LOCATION: 30th Street and Dwight (between University and Upas Sts.)
Highlights:
Non-stop stage entertainment from talented bands and dancers, plus bakery goods, burgers and the popular Stone Brewery Pale Ale Beer Tent. Hash House A-Go-Go and the school’s Hispanic Society will be offering food.
And, as with any family oriented event there are plenty of games for younger kids and wild claims of holding North Park’s largest rummage sale for older kids. Plus, breakfast burritos will be available after the 9:30 am Mass at nearby St. Patrick’s Church.
I don’t plan on missing the Hula Hoop Contest on Saturday or the North Park Rock And Blues band, plus the Fleming Family Band. For complete roster of events and talent click: http://www.stpatrickssd.com/fallfest.html
It’s Americana at its finest, folks and it’s a free event. See you there.
