Meryl Streep is able to capture Eleanor Roosevelt because she is Meryl Streep.

Peter Coyote delivers the series narration with a pro’s pacing.

Paul Giamatti is Vice President Teddy Roosevelt.

Then there’s the writing by Geoffrey C. Ward, who penned the entire 14-hour documentary.
