All aboard for your Hyperloop trip to San Francisco or LA, according to Elon Musk

SUPER TUBE--Elon Musk, the brains behind Tesla motors and Space X today unveiled a solar-powered design concept to the world, which he believes would transport people from Los Angeles to San Francisco in 30 minutes in an elevated tube that would be constructed between cities.  The speed of the trip would be under the speed of sound, says Musk.

The concept is called “Hyperloop.”  He presented the idea without patents to anyone interested in building the system.

Musk’s idea was released in a 52-page PDF that outlines the concept and some of the drawbacks. 

Musk asks himself would the pod/tube system work from LA to New York.  He admits a supersonic aircraft would work better coast-to-coast.
