HIGH WIND VIDEO: SITTING OUT 135 MPH HURRICANE IAN

And, folks this was only a  CATEGORY 4 hurricane!

For several years I've been fortunate to play senior mens amateur baseball in Ft. Myers, FLA.  Teams from all across the nation and the Caribbean compete in the annual Roy Hobbs World Series.  Fortunately, we've escaped getting hit by a hurricane.

We are lucky as the tourney is played on major league spring training facilities for the Twins (Hammond stadium) and Red Sox (Jet Blue Stadium).  This year I'm afraid the baseball fields we play on will not be in shape for baseball games.

Here's an image of the condo tower on Point Rassa in West Ft. Myers, where we stayed during our tournament play.  Water is splashing on the sixth floor level.  The building survived but the bridge to Sanibel Island a few steps away wasn't so lucky.

When the storm passed our condo is at the upper left and the bridge to Sanibel in the forefront.

Here's an image of a Storm Channel reporter claiming the wind was at 135 mph.
