DESIGN OF OUR TIME / MODERNIST MANSION OVERLOOKING SAN DIEGO BAY

At one time I was editor-in-chief of two successful city-style magazines in the San Diego area. After retirement from both, many marketing and/or publicity firms didn’t purge me from their respective press release mailings or in this case e-mailing lists.

I’m glad they didn’t because it gives my current general interest magazine-style blog [the one you are reading right now] a chance to share the grounds of a superb modernism estate overlooking San Diego Bay with my www.pillartopost.org readership.

Here is the never before offered for sale, the Sadler Residence circa 1988 by celebrated Modernist the late Harold "Hal" G. Sadler, FAIA with interiors by Mary Katherine Sadler.

In this, the Architect's own home, the thoughtful and effective blurring of interior and exterior spaces is flawlessly executed utilizing expansive walls of glass, numerous large sunning terraces and skylights that bathe the spaces in natural light. Ideally located behind a discreet gated entrance and long private drive in coveted La Playa the thoughtfully designed home is an exercise in refinement.

The ultra-private setting offers never-ending panoramic views across San Diego Bay, world-class Yacht Clubs, the Downtown skyline, and the sparkling Pacific Ocean in the distance.

Named "Mr. San Diego" for his community service and impact on the City his firm, Tucker Sadler Architects, is responsible for helping to create the San Diego skyline including the Rady [concert] Shell, San Diego Central Library, as well as the expansion of the San Diego Convention Center and the San Diego Airport Terminal 2. This is a very special home with 3BD/2.5BA/3,254sf/.21 Acre/offered at $3,250,000.
