To join in the celebration honoring Spain's recent World Cup triumph, we return to visit Salamanca's Mercado de la Paz easily one of Madrid’s most impressive markets, with bright aisles, polished glass cases, high-quality produce, meats, fish, prepared foods, conservas, and specialty provisions. 

Its most famous stop is Casa Dani, known for one of the city’s defining tortillas de patata. The tortilla is soft and barely set, with egg, potato, and caramelized onion nearly spilling from the plate, a benchmark for anyone who prefers the dish poco hecha.
