TAYLOR’S ONE VOTE
. In the 2020 election, Taylor Swift made her support for Joe Biden known, endorsing his candidacy and advocating for his presidency. Swift’s endorsement highlighted her alignment with Biden’s stance on social issues and showcased her belief that he would be the best candidate to bring about the change the country needed. Taylor has been mum on who she will endorse (if anyone) for President in 2024. The speculation is running rampant. Relax everyone your vote counts just the same as hers: one per person.

FACEBOOK IS ANYTHING BUT DEAD. Meta is facebook’s parent and it reports facebook’s daily active user count rose to 2.1 billion on average for December 2023. That’s a gain of 6 percent compared with December 2022. Sounds healthy to us.  See below how Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg made $28 billion in one day.

SIGNIFICANT. Right wing leaning Hungary finally caved in to join 26 other European Union countries in providing Ukraine with 50 billion Euros in support of its war effort and lagging economy. “Ukraine is on European soil. It is a European country. And if we want a peaceful and stable Europe, we need to be credible in terms of our own security and defense vis-à-vis all our neighbors,” French president Emmanuel Macron said.

OMG IT’S WINTER. The world is coming to an end because of the bad weather we’ve been having lately. Those contributing to the hue and cry might remember there are storms in winter. Some are worse than others. That’s been happening since the dawn of womankind. Hint: don’t put your home in a flood zone and don’t drive in water higher than your MAGA bumpersticker and you’ll be just fine

THEY SAY CAFE. United Auto Workers members and leadership are firmly behind the president. In a fiery speech while delivering the group’s endorsement, UAW President Shawn Fain said Biden was the clear choice in a matchup with Trump. Biden last year became the first sitting president to join an active picket line. “Joe Biden bet on the American worker while Donald Trump blamed the American workers,” Fain said. “We need to know who’s going to sit in the most powerful seat in the world and help us win as a united working class. So if our endorsement must be earned, Joe Biden has earned it.” Image (Below): The President poses for selfies with UAW workers at They Say Restaurant in Detroit late last week.

SOCIAL CLIMBING. Mark Zuckerberg made $28 billion in one day while most of us were having breakfast. The windfall for the founder of Meta (facebook and instagram) came after it was announced Meta has begun its first ever cash dividend program for its stock. The quarterly dividend of 50 cents per share will be paid out to shareholders on March 26. Zuckerberg’s net worth before the stock dividend was already more than $140 billion.
