Yelp came out with their Top 100 Restaurants to visit in 2024 and Sunny Side Kitchen [155 S. Orange St.] in Escondido, CA was awarded #3 overall for the entire country!
Since the announcement media has overwhelmed the small café.
Says Kate, who is co-owner with her husband Bob Carpenter, “We were in the [San Diego ]Union Tribune business section, we were on ABC 10 news, and we even heard that Bill Handel was talking about us in L.A. on KFI am radio.”
“It has been a whirlwind,” she adds. “And, of course, visitors have increased dramatically. If you are a regular we hope you will have patience while we navigate the additional effort it takes to accommodate so many new guests."
