Through wine guru Tom Gable’s time machine, we travel back to St. Helena, CA in 1981 when this classic Heitz Cellar cabernet sauvignon was produced and bottled. That was then and now is now. A recent tasting has Tom describing this wine as possessing light-mid ruby, amber edges, some viscosity (13.5 alc); red fruit, herbaceous, cassis, wood nose, low-mid acids; softening tannins, nice balance with the alcohol; semi-long, tasty red fruit and wood finish.
