New for San Diego this summer |
NEW
THIS SUMMER--The marketing gurus with the
in-the-works Bottega Americano have been working the media since February to
the fact that there will be a new indoor food and beverage emporium, downtown San Diego in the first floor of the Thomas Jefferson Law School on Island Ave., near 11th
Street.
Manhattan's amazingly successful Eataly |
The inspiration for this new 8,000 sq. ft venture, among
others world-wide, has to be the Eataly in New York City. For those who haven’t
been there/done that, the Eataly is a department store of gourmet foods, wines,
craft beer in the heart of Manhattan.
The Eataly also has a top of building (12th floor) beer
garden linked with the operation.
Expect San Diego’s version to be open this summer. It should be a lot of fun and delicious
exploring. On a personal note, I just
hope to hell they have a wonderful olive bar and a sophisticated wall of world
class olive oils. Gourmet food, wine and
craft beer is easy to find in San Diego, but nary a decent establishment
devoted to olives.
Keep up with the Bottega Americano on its facebook page or
