1996 LAVAZZA CALENDAR

Forgive if we decided to share a cup of coffee with
famed Italian actress and model Maria Grazia Cucinotta in a more private
setting. The one time Bond girl posed
for this coffee image for international photographer Ferdinando Scianna while
on location for photos for a Lavazza Calendar.
The calendar took on a warm, Mediterranean style in
1996, thanks to the atmosphere created by Ferdinando Scianna's shots, who
staged the coffee in the gentle, diffused light of classically Italian setting sun,
mixing the sensual pleasures of coffee with the warm tones of the South. The
exceptional testimonial and perfect interpreter of these atmospheres was—of course--Maria
Grazia Cucinotta.
Ferdinando Scianna was born in Sicily in 1943. He
alternated between reportages, fashion assignments, advertising and portraits,
and finally achieved international acclaim, while continuing to work as a
journalist.
