The Old House Fair is returning for a
second year operating with its new format that has ended the 19 year tradition
of free booth displays lining the blocked off intersection of Beech and 30th
Street.
INSTEAD:
On May 18, the new Old House Fair in South Park continues
its long-standing home tour
event. This year five-homes are on tour.
With your $ ticket admits you to the docent led homes tour.
Tourgoers may view the houses in any order you choose, and
hop on and off the trolley provided with your tour ticket.
New for 2019 is a separate architect-led bike tour of neighborhood homes that
were built by notable architects both historic and modern. This promises to be a popular addition,
especially because there are so many vintage homes to peddle by that aren’t on
the trolley home tour.
The bike tour begins at Ivy Street Coworking at the corner of 30th and Ivy.
And, a dog petting zone at South Bark Dog Wash on 30th.
This year our tour will begin at the Rose Wine Bar, 2219 30th Street in South Park. Ticket booth and
information will be located nearby on the patio space. Ask for details regarding the exhibitor talks
being held at Eclipse Chocolates on Fern Street.
For those who miss the street fair style displays, a limited
version is now offered across the street at Ivy
Street Coworking, where a selection of
historic home preservation specialists, contractors and vendors will be on hand
to answer your questions and showcase renovation and restoration projects.
End the day with a special Old House Cocktail party hosted
at Kindred with Bad Madge from 3-6pm.
