CLOSE TO THE HEART--The 3rd Annual Treasure Chest Fest at Green Flash Brewing Company, happens Saturday, Aug 7 from noon to 4 pm.

This year the fest will be held in and around the brewery, tasting room and beer garden giving all festival goers a 'behind the scenes' Green Flash experience, 6550 Mira Mesa Blvd.

Brewmaster, Chuck Silva has unlocked the Green Flash beer archives and will at the same time debutthe 2013 Treasure Chest event specialty beer, a Belgian-Style Brown Ale.

Each ticket will include 10 tasting tickets and will include:

--Rare draft and cask beer selection curated by Brewmaster Chuck Silva

--Barrel aged tastings

--Perfectly paired small bites from local restaurants

--Commemorative Treasure Chest 2013 pint glass

--Additional tasting tickets are also available in advance and on the day of the event.

ABOUT TREASURE CHEST

Green Flash owners Lisa and Mike Hinkley.

Established in 2011 Treasure Chest is Green Flash’s annual fundraising program to benefit local Breast Cancer charities in San Diego.  The program is near and dear to the hearts of the Green Flash team, as the company Co-Founder and VP of Marketing, Lisa Hinkley is a 3-year Breast Cancer survivor.  Through Treasure Chest, Green Flash has raised over 50K for the local chapter of Komen for the Cure San Diego and other breast cancer charities.   The local highlight of the program is a rare beer festival held at the brewery each September and all proceeds from ticket sales are donated to Komen for the Cure San Diego.

Brewmaster, Chuck Silva and the crew will be on site to chat about the beers being poured. Also, $1 from each full pour sold at the Tasting Room bar will be donated Susan G Komen for the Cure San Diego.

100% of the proceeds from FEST ticket sales will be donated to Susan G Komen for the Cure San Diego.

Mike and Lisa Hinkley took their interest in the craft beer industry to a new level in 2002 when they founded Green Flash Brewing Company. Former pub owners, Mike and Lisa jumped into brewing, and in 2004 renowned brewmaster Chuck Silva joined the team.
