Segment of the Berlin Wall and ominous guard tower on display at the Newseum, a media museum in Washington DC. |
HISTORIC RUBBLE--The last time I
touched the Berlin Wall (or in my case a piece of it) was on a trip to
Washington DC. Inside the fairly new
media museum—Newseum—on Pennsylvania Ave. is a section devoted to the “Wall.”
It serves as a stark reminder that 25 years ago today the Berlin Wall was
breached in the name of freedom. The
Wall display is near other historic rubble: pieces of the Twin Towers that fell
in New York City on 9-11.
