Before you speed your way into autumn, there’ll be plenty of time to slow your roll care of beer-centric events happening throughout San Diego County. Check out these featured events then check out our full event page.
September 16 | Nopalito X Miho: Wet-hop season is upon us and local growing operation, Nopalito Farm and Hopyard, is bringing whole-cone hop fanatics Nickel Beer Co., North Park Beer Co. and South Park Brewing, all of which will bring fresh-hop creations to share along with gin from Old Harbor Distilling and food from MIHO Catering Co. | Nopalito Farm & Hopyard, Castlecrest Drive, Valley Center, 1 p.m.
September 22 | San Diego Festival of Beer: There are other fests that are more focused, more indie, more San Diego and more lots of things, but credit must be given to the first annual, sizeable charity beer-fest to grace America’s Finest City. This was it and, for many (myself included), it was a first taste of the good stuff in a festive, free-flowing environment. | Broadway Pier, 1000 North Harbor Drive, Downtown, 12 p.m.
September 29 | Oktoberfest: Eppig Brewing has made a fast name for themselves behind expert crafting of German-style lagers, making them perfectly suited to take on Oktoberfest. Limited-edition steins, Festbier fills and traditional food will all be offered. The action will take place at their Point Loma location on on the 29th. | Eppig Brewing Waterfront Biergarten, 2700 Dickens Street, Point Loma, 1 p.m.
September 30 | Treasure Chest Fest: There are plenty of mixed feelings about Green Flash Brewing these days, but after a rocky transfer of power to new masters, it is good to see the company continue to partner with Susan G. Komen San Diego via this annual beer- and food-fueled festival raising money for the good work that organization does locally. | Green Flash Brewing, 6550 Mira Mesa Boulevard, Mira Mesa, 12 p.m.
September | Beer to the Rescue Fundraisers: The year-long charity campaign benefiting the Lupus Foundation of Southern California motors on through the month with a three-day stretch of consecutive events including a beer-release at Home Brewing, specials at Dos Desperados Brewery and the debut of a barrel-aged Brett saison at Amplified Aleworks, followed down the road by a fundraiser at Duck Foot Brewing. | September 14: Home Brewing (at The Homebrewer), 2911 El Cajon Boulevard, North Park; September 15: Dos Desperados Brewery, 1241 Linda Vista Drive, San Marcos; September 16: Amplified Ale Works, 4150 Mission Boulevard, #208, Pacific Beach; September 21: Duck Foot Taproom & Kitchen, 550 Park Boulevard, Suite #2104, East Village; Times Vary
