PEDAL TO PETALS / EXPLORING SAN DIEGO’S BACKCOUNTRY WILDFLOWER EXPLOSION

HAPPY SPRING!
San Diego County is blessed with some of the most diverse geographies in the nation.  There are 70 miles of amazing coastline, plus 7,000 plus mountain terrain in the middle and vast deserts to the East.  On rainy years like the winter of 2019 the county had record levels of snow and rain.

With such abundant rain, a few drops snuck over Mt. Palomar and Mt. Laguna to fall in the Anza-Borrego flatlands near Borrego Springs.  But those drops were all that the wildflowers needed to bloom in a kaleidoscope of floral colors.
