UNDERRATED SCI FI FILMS—What a bummer it rained all day at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. What’s worse than a soggy red carpet or serious rain on designer togs?  But, there’s hope here in the ‘hood.  Time Mag just repeated what it thinks are the five most underrated science fiction-style films of recent vintage.

So, call over to North Park’s Lefty’s for a Chicago-style thin-crust pizza; then stop by Stone Brewery outlet in South Park for some serious craft brews and invite your facebook friends over for a Cinema Noir de Soir.  Most films can be found on Netflix.

Here’s the list with the best last:

5. Silent Running, 1972 (Richard Drefuss, Teri Garr)
4. Gattica, 1997  (Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman)
3. Serenity, 2005  (Sean Maher and Summer Glau)
2. Dark City, 1998 (Jennifer Connelly and Kiefer Sutherland)
1. Primer, 2004  ($7,000 total budget for film, who needs stars).
