BALBOA PARK'S STAR JASMINE IN FULL BLOOM

Spring has arrived in America's Finest City Park

NATURES PERFUME MAKER--BalboaPark.org, a consortium of marketing types tasked to promote the wonders of San Diego’s magnificent municipal park, posted the image above recently.  Even with posting only one picture like this blooming star jasmine, it shows they’re doing their job just fine.

Star Jasmine is more than a fragrant wall climber, it’s one of the most versatile landscape plants around. It has a dark green sasanqua camellia-like leaf and grows dense in sun or shade.  This slow grower is not invasive and its star shaped flowers stay in bloom for months giving off a fragrance that reminds us of summer.
