Call it one of the most amazing
promises kept by an American president when NASA’S Apollo 11 mission to land
two men on the moon was accomplished this week
in 1969. The amazing engineering and astronomical event happened as President John F. Kennedy predicted in 1961: "before this decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth."
