PERFORMANCE ALERT: Tonight on PBS' Great Performances, a documentary on the Broadway smash "Hamilton" will air. |
Hamilton is the rage of Broadway. But not everyone will have a chance to catch
a live performance in New York. But,
thanks to PBS, there’s a second best opportunity to learn more about this
remarkable stage production.
On, October
21, PBS’ Great Performances series will air a documentary of Hamilton by filmmaker Alex Horwitz.
PBS’ Linda
Holmes writing in the National Public Radio blog wrote “show creator and star
Lin-Manuel Miranda said Horwitz was a roommate of his who started following his
process while he was still deciding exactly what form Hamilton would eventually
take. Miranda also pointed out that he's had a relationship with WNET's Great
Performances going back to his previous show In The Heights, and that his first job was as a WNET intern,” said
PBS writer Linda Holmes.” It's safe to say the station's long relationship with
him has turned into a good investment.
It’s not a
full performance of Hamilton, but for
now we can just say thank you for this documentary.
