MAGAZINE POSTS RESULTS—San Diego-based craft beer magazine and website held
its first homebrewing contest. “And, we
have a winner,” said Ryan Lamb, Editor of West Coaster (www.westcoastersd.com). Nicholas Rakovec took first place honors after
a recent judging held over the weekend in North Park. “Many thanks to those who
entered beers in West Coaster’s first homebrewing contest, as well as our
steward (Ryan Fisher) and judges: Brian Trout, George Thornton, Kim Sparrow,
Eric Woltz, and Ryan Reschan,” said Editor Lamb.
Competition organizer and
cheerleader Brian Trout had the great idea more than a year ago to put together
this competition, which required entrants to brew with a local ingredient. Now
we’re looking forward to future competitions with a similar format, added Lamb,
who heads the four year old magazine and website.
