10 DAY CELEBRATION /
100+ BREWERIES
If you and
yours are looking for an excuse to visit San Diego’s sunny climes before fall’s
moody weather sets in then here’s a good one.
The San Diego Brewers Guild is tossing the craft beer event of the
year. Called the 7th Annual San Diego
Beer Week (November 6-15, 2015), the 10-day Celebration of San Diego’s thriving
craft beer Community to feature more than 500 beer-centric events across the
City and then some.
The beer ‘hoods like North Park,
Gaslamp, Hillcrest, Miramar and Little Italy are electric this time of
year. “It’s been an incredible year for
San Diego breweries, bringing home an impressive 19 medals from the recent
Great American Beer Festival, and this year’s SDBW is primed to be the most
well attended yet” says Kevin Hopkins, the president of the San Diego Brewers
Guild. “The destination event provides us with a powerful platform to share
what’s new in San Diego beer with visitors from both near and far.”
Craft beer tourism has been an
important component of that growth as millions of visitors explore the region
to experience San Diego’s dynamic craft brewing industry. Last year’s SDBW
attracted thousands of out-of-town guests, which accounted for 6,900 room
nights booked. SDBW is the only week of the year when the city’s many breweries
come together to offer festivals,
tastings,
dinners, pairings and much more to a devoted audience of craft beer fans,
allowing them to familiarize themselves with the best of San Diego’s brewing
culture at the same time.
OPENING DAY

officially kicks off with the 13th annual two-day Guild Fest, presented by the

ABOUT THE
BREWERS GUILD
SDBW is the
local Brewer’s Guild’s largest community event, and is representative of the
Guild’s tradition of bringing craft beer to the masses and giving local brewers
needed visibility and opportunity for continued success.
The San
Diego Brewers Guild is a nonprofit organization made up of allied San Diego
craft breweries, tradespeople, restaurants serving craft beer and craft beer
aficionados. Started in 1997 by a group of brewers with a common goal of
supporting the brewing culture in San Diego, the Guild is the primary nonprofit
organization supporting San Diego’s growing craft beer community. Its mission
has remained the same since its inception: to promote awareness and increase
the visibility of fresh, locally brewed beer through education and community
events.
Throughout
San Diego’s craft beer history, the Guild has worked to create an open line of
communication between brewers, be an advocate for modern beer laws and promote
the robust brewing community locally, nationally and internationally. With over
100 craft breweries now operating in San Diego County, the Guild’s role is more
important than ever. www.sandiegobrewersguild.com
