LATEST FROM BORRELLI DESIGN / San Diego, California
Michael
Borrelli, easily one of San Diego’s top home designers, recently completed
another outstanding project and has kindly shared his webpage posting with PillartoPost.org daily online magazine.
This total
home remodel project in Pauma Valley, California** carries a traditional theme
with timeless details throughout. Crystal Cabinetry was specified in the dining
and living room, kitchen, master bath, laundry and guest house.
Borrelli
Design’s project designer on this remodel was Angie dela Cruz, CKD, CBD.
Cabinetry in
the dining and living room consisted of a warm-stained Cherry wood with a
5-piece mitered door style and molding details. Two niches by of the fireplace
in the dining room provide storage space for glassware, drawers for linens and
additional accessories. The framed glass doors with matching and lit interiors
allow the clients to showcase the beautiful glassware. A bar area with an
arched top with a mirrored interior and custom-built glass step-up can be used
to display the liquor collection. An entertainment center allows houses a
television and storage for all electronic equipment.
The kitchen
is equipped with top-of-the-line appliances by Miele including a 30” oven, 24”
steam oven, convection oven, dishwasher and a built-in coffee system. A 48”
Wolf range and a large island allow room for multiple cooks. To set the kitchen
apart from the remaining of the home, two contrasting finishes were chosen to
complement the space – a brushed painted gray and a dark espresso.
A butcher
block countertop helped warmed up the finishes. The curved countertop played
off of the curved ceiling details and provides seating at the island. Drawers
are equipped with Rev-A-Shelf inserts for cutlery and spices. White apron sinks
tie in with the white subway tile backsplash. The remodeled kitchen utilizes
multiple finishes and textures to create an aesthetically beautiful and
functional space to cook and entertain family and guests.
The master
bath consists of stained Cherry on two bow-front vanities with a make-up vanity
in between. Both are housed with a decorative sink to play off of the
decorative tile work throughout the wall, flooring and walk-in shower. A long
mirror with a frame that matches the cabinetry ties the vanities together while
a tall cabinet allows easy access to linens. This master bath is not just any
bathroom. It provides a personal spa-like treatment for the clients.
Black
painted cabinets line the laundry room both next to and above the beautiful red
Samsung washer and dryer. White subway tiles line the backsplash and a white
Carrera marble provides countertop space to fold the laundry.
The guest
house carries on the traditional theme and a bit of fun as well. Cabinetry
consists of cherry with a beaded door style as an additional design element.
Metallic backsplash with copper details draws the eye into the linear elements
and metal sink and faucet. A convection oven and refrigerator is also available
for the guest.
The whole
feel of the home has been elevated with the addition of the cabinetry work.
Each space relates to one another, creating a beautiful and functional space
for the entire family.
