The forever-embedded
name of Christopher Columbus [1451-1506] is, of course, associated with his crew landing on
a Caribbean island on October 12, 1492.
That trip made him a hero, but the three other voyages were less than
wonderful for Columbus. In fact, his
third trip resulted in him being sent back to Spain in chains for mismanaging
