ARCHIVE / SAN DIEGO BREWERS WIN 5 GOLD MEDALS AT WORLD BEER CUP

16 MEDALS TOTAL—At last weekend’s 2012 World Beer Cup in in San Diego, local brewers captured 16 medals (5 gold), according to Mike Shess, publisher of West Coaster, a San Diego-based beer newspaper and website.

The honorees were announced at the Gala Awards Dinner/Ceremony, which took place immediately following the 2012 Craft Brewers Conference. Out of 95 categories of beer, San Diegans won 5 gold medals, 3 Silver medals, and 8 Bronze medals, said Shess.

In total, 799 breweries entered 3,921 beers from 54 countries. 218 judges from 27 countries determined the winners. The SD winners and their categories are listed below.
