WORLD ARCHITECTURE / NEW VIEWS OF ICONIC CREE HOUSE IN PALM SPRINGS

Dezeen image
Dezeen design magazine has posted new images of famed Swiss architect Albert Frey’s modernist Cree House in Palm Springs.  Dezeen’s Eleanor Gibson writes that the owner opened up the desert home for the recent Palm Springs Modernism Week, which ended Feb. 23.  Dezeen’s photographer found sight angles (above) to suggest the 1955 Cree home is miles from the nearest civilization.  In reality, the newly remodeled classic is just off of Highway 111, near Cathedral City.  It’s tucked on a hill above the Elk’s Lodge and Glory to God Ministries.

The next Modernism Week will be Feb. 11-21, 2021.  To view Dezeen’s new images of the Cree home click here.
