Towering 1,100 feet New York City, the Edge protrudes from the 100th floor of the new 30 Hudson Yards skyscraper making it the highest observation deck in the Western hemisphere.

GUEST BLOG / Spectrum News Staff, New York City--The city's highest outdoor observation deck is now officially open.

Towering 1,100 feet over Manhattan, the aptly titled "Edge" protrudes out of the 100th floor of 30 Hudson Yards.

It's actually the highest observation deck in the Western hemisphere.

Related Companies CEO Jeff Blau says this is a culmination of the first phase of Hudson Yards and will add to its success.

"The retail shops and restaurant are all performing and one of the main attractions, the vessel are also attracting lots of people from around the world to Hudson Yards and today if you come to New York City, you don't come to New York City and not go to Hudson yards between the High Line, the Vessel and now the Edge up here," Blau said.

Amid coronavirus concerns, the "Edge" is taking precautions.

They've decreased the capacity numbers in elevators and are monitoring the crowds.

They will remain open as of now, but are operating at a limited capacity.
Now open, the Edge is the fifth tallest observation deck in the world.
