AMERICANA / UPCOMING: KEN BURNS ON MUHAMMAD ALI

GUEST BLOG / By Kevin Wensing, National Press Club, Washington DC--Filmmakers Ken Burns, Sarah Burns and David McMahon yesterday announced the debut of their new PBS documentary, “Muhammad Ali,” at a National Press Club virtual Headliners event in Washington DC.

  The four-part documentary, in development for six years,      will air Sept. 19 through Sept. 22 on PBS.  The film         chronicles the life of the three-time heavyweight boxing       champ both in the ring and outside of it as he became a     critic on issues such as racial and religious prejudice, and   the Vietnam War. 

  The documentary draws from archival footage, photographs and interviews with Ali’s family and friends, his fellow boxers, and the journalists who covered him.
