COFFEE BEANS & BEINGS / RETRO DESIGN FOR A BIT OF ITALY IN DOWNTOWN MONTREAL

Photography is by David Dworkind and Alison Slattery.
One of Caffettiera’s Caffe Bar’s more popular pastry’s is the Cornetto. A staple of the Italian breakfast, the Cornetto made its first appearance in Italy starting 1683 in Veneto and that is all thanks to the commercial exchanges between Vienna and the old Republic of Venice.

The Venetian bakers refined and adapted the original Austrian recipe and made it their own, giving us the cornetto that we all know and love today. Mange un cornetto… pas un croissant!

Owner Andreas’ Italian flavored coffee establishment with a French accent was recently featured in DeZeen, an international design magazine.
