SEAT OF PANTS TOURING—Used up your vacation for this year? Well, there’s always the ‘Net to let your fingertips do some day dreaming do it yourself travel for next year. When traveling, I always lean on Frommer's. This guidebook and other services firm has evolved from a travel guide to a complex travel organization that is a deliverer of candid and reliable information on its Web site and in guidebooks and related travel products.
Since the 1957 publication of Arthur Frommer's revolutionary Europe on $5 a Day, the Frommer's collection of travel products has expanded to include over 300 guidebooks as well as this popular Frommers.com Web site, making Frommer's as one of the most trusted name in travel today.

What I enjoy each year, is the travel photo contest sponsored and conducted by Frommers.com. The photos on this blog are from its recent contest.

Top Image: Venice, Italy
This photo was taken from the top of the Campanille overlooking St. Mark's Square in Venice. Note how colorful the yellow chairs are while the whiteness of the tablecloths creates interesting shapes. This bird's eye perspective makes artwork out of a moment of lament between two waiters having a slow lunch hour.

Towards the end of a two day antiquities fair in Arezzo, this shopkeeper was apparently worn out, but still dignified--and ready for more business
