WORLD CLASS ART FEST IN BALBOA PARK THIS WEEKEND

ART SAN DIEGO 2012 Contemporary Art Fair (4TH annual) moves to the Activity Center in Balboa Park (north of Navy Hospital on Park Blvd). San Diego Home/Garden’s own Phyllis Van Doren will be moderating an Art Talk with creatives Rob Quigley, Raul Guerrero and Joyce Cutler Shaw. Be sure to come by and say hello! This is a great event with great art and you don't want to miss it.

Open Fair Days: Sept. 7, 2012 - Sept. 9, 2012; Noon until 7 pm

The theme of ART SAN DIEGO 2012 is “New Art City” suggesting a new way of expressing the Art Fair. The show layout will include districts, each with its own character, dedicated to the following disciplines: contemporary art, contemporary product and furniture design, mid-century and modern art, and an area designated for experimental works. Each district will have its own social center allowing places to sit and talk with artists and dealers, and experience art in motion.

Last year’s Fair received record attendance with more than 8,000 collectors, curators, museum directors and art enthusiasts. Strong sales were reported by galleries and the event received extraordinary media attention, and has become one of the largest attended cultural events in San Diego.

In 2012 ART SAN DIEGO (ASD) introduces a thoughtful and multifaceted approach to the planning, design, and the curation of the fair’s public realm in order to unite people around a common spirit and provide a different way of experiencing the Art Fair and San Diego.
