Historic South Park will really be jumping
during the Old House Fair & Vintage Row on Saturday, June 18 from 10am to
4pm. This fun annual fair at 30th and Beech Streets offers a historic home
tour, free street fair with exhibitors, artists and vendors, and a neighborhood
walking tour.
As an Old
House Fair sponsor, Save Our Heritage Org will return with our Ask the Old
House Experts booth, always a lively hub. A variety of community experts will
answer questions on everything from house research and designation to proper
restoration techniques to rehabilitating old windows. And what a great occasion
to join SOHO or renew your membership!
Next to
SOHO's booth, you can buy gorgeous geranium plants cultivated in our Geranium
George program, which benefits the Marston House Museum & Gardens.
OLD HOUSE FAIR HOME TOUR
A $25 home
tour ticket gets you into five historic homes — four of which are more than 100
years old — and on and off a trolley that makes a loop all day. Most homes are
within walking distance of each other. (Sorry, no photos, strollers or
restrooms in the homes.)
The vendors
cater to old house dwellers, offering products like paint and flooring, vintage
furniture, restoration and repair services and landscape design. You'll
recognize a number of them as SOHO members.
For
refreshment, check out the Buona Forchetta pizza party, a South Park Brewing
boutique biergarten and live music on stage.
