On October 5, 1945, the popular media hour “Meet the Press” held its first broadcast program with Lawrence Spivak, one of the pioneers in broadcasting as producer and regular panelist.
On the television side, "Meet the Press" is the longest-running program on network television, having made its NBC TV debut on November 6, 1947.
